Ultra Trail Running Champion
Ultra distance runner Sandra Bowers is one of the most renowned in her field of endurance sports. After a serious ankle injury, Sandra was told she would never run again but she has since completed over 60 marathons and won over 50 races from distances of 5k to 110k.
Sandra is very unique in her field as her training partners are her Siberian Husky dogs who she regularly trains and races up to 50 miles with. She became Scottish National Champion in 2007 and 2009 and in 2011 she won the title Ultra Trail Running Champion. She has represented Scotland since 2007 and Great Britain since 2009. In advance to the Olympic Games in London 2012, Sandra was selected as one of the olympic torch bearers.
